Hummelstown Dollars

Hummelstown Dollars were introduced in 2003 by the Hummelstown Business and Professional Association. They were first awarded as raffle prizes during Hummelstown Holiday Happenings 2003. Hummelstown Dollars are in the 5-dollar denominations and are given as prizes by various Hummelstown organizations for several contests (i.e. Scarecrows on the Square, Hallween Parade). They can be used to purchase goods and services from participating Hummelstown businesses

How are Hummelstown Dollars used?

Use them like you would legal tender at participating businesses. Please inform the establishment that you will be using your Hummelstown Dollars ahead of time, in case there are questions or restrictions. Please be aware that NO CHANGE is given when Hummelstown Dollars are used. For example: if your bill is $14.26, you can pay with 3 Hummelstown Dollars and forfeit the 74 cents, or you can use 2 Hummelstown Dollars and pay the remainder with legal tender, in which case you would receive change (unless you give exact change). Brief instructions are printed on the back of each bill.

Is there an expiration date?

No, there is no deadline as to when you must use your dollars; however, you may need to check the website to see if the accepting businesses have changed.

Where can I use Hummelstown Dollars?

Because of their nature, some Hummelstown businesses are unable to accept Hummelstown Dollars. Please always call ahead and verify participation as managers/owners change and this will give the new operators time to get up to speed.
